DOE LEADS INTERNATIONAL DELEGATION TO MEET WITH VIETNAM STAKEHOLDERS
Delta Offshore Energy organized a delegation of over 50 representatives from 30 companies over 3 days in Hanoi and Bac Lieu Province. The companies represented over 1.5 million employees, USD 900 billion in total revenues and over USD 10 trillion in total assets. The companies and financial institutions represented global leaders in LNG-to-power value chain including LNG Suppliers, LNG terminal owner operators, LNG vessel fleet owner operators, independent power producers in gas-to-power, EPC and EPCI as well as leading professionals from global investment banks, private equity, insurance, engineering consultants, maritime and legal.
DOE held meetings with the leaders of the Minister of Planning and Investments (MPI), the top leadership of Bac Lieu Province, Electricity and Renewable Energy Agency (EREA) of MOIT, the Institute of Energy (IE) of the MOIT, the Committee for State Capital Management (CMSC the "Super Committee of SOEs"), Electricity Vietnam Group (EVN), the National Power Transmission Corporation (NPTC) on a fact finding mission in follow-up to DOE receiving the first and only private investment mandate in an LNG-to-Power project in the current national power plan (PDP7 revised).
Discussions were to determine key next steps with the various stakeholders to ensure all necessary approvals and agreements in place to reach Final Investment Decision. Discussions primarily focused on immediate action items being the grid interconnection, Power Purchase Agreement and the Feasibility Study.
